Interference effects mapping on the static wind loading of a tall building

Wind-induced loading on buildings may be altered due to presence of upwind structures. These variations are quantified by the interference factors (IFs), which is determined experimentally for each case analyzed, since obtaining this quantification in codes and standards still impractical complexity multi-parameters involved. To understand influence some these parameters effects, contour plots power spectra density were presented IFs corresponding aerodynamic coefficients along-wind cross-wind force, as well torsion. Wind tunnel tests conducted applying synchronous pressure measurement technique. Interference arrangements with one two upstream interfering investigated different wind angles, relative positions terrain roughness. Results indicate that shielding effect predominant most studied cases. Nevertheless, amplification effects generally present specific configurations usually caused channeling buffeting vortex shedding.
